SU20-02 Music Through Samba Drumming & Percussion

Music through Samba Drumming and Percussion.

For teachers who would like a new avenue to explore in delivering music confidentially. Expertise in music is not necessary.

The group will learn concentrating/focusing techniques, ways of exploring individuality in musical expression as well as experiencing first hand ensemble music making and the many elements surrounding performance. We will be using pulse, tempo, tones, prepared instruments, homemade instruments, the human voice and the human body.  Background will be given on the use of percussion on a local and global scale while  continually exploring the element of self esteem through personal achievement.

The objective of the course is to give all of the participants the ability to use music/percussion in their classrooms with the participation by all students.
