LC22-19SP Teaching with GIS: Introduction to using GIS In the Classroom Session 2
ArcGIS is a geographic information system for working with maps and geographic information maintained by Esri. These sessions are suitable for Junior Cycle & Senior Cycle Teachers of Geography, Science & Maths and Teachers of the Senior Classes in Primary Schools.
The following willl be the areas of focus over the two sessions on February 1st & 8th 7p.m.-8.30p.m.
- Help students visualise local, regional and global data and make connections to their own environment.
- Choose appropriate GIS classroom activities based on your instructional goals and students' levels of knowledge.
- Guide students through a standard process for investigating a problem using GIS.
- Prepare a GIS map presentation a topic of interest.
